- Week Eight has the schedule revert back to divisional games as the race for the playoff continues.  To say these remaining games are critical is an understatement as every team has a chance for the post-season, albeit Emaan's path is a difficult one.

- The Ikhlas and Shukr game gave pundits an opportunity to assess the big trade made earlier in the week right away with the teams facing each other.  Coach K got his team riled up pre-game with a "We don't need you" chant similar to how his beloved Islanders gave John Tavares a hostile greeting the night before, bizarrely aiming scorn at Arslan Mian who had been playing hard for Ikhlas and was their leading scorer before the team cashed out on him.  The game didn't go the way they had planned however as their newly acquired players in Zaid Toorawa and Sufyaan Shaikh were both not available.  Mian for his part did not have a point but his line-mate Humza Chaudhry did the damage with a pair of goals.

- Sabr started the season with a strong defence core but trades have depleted what was once their great strength as trades have thinned them out.  An ominous sign considering their defence was ripped apart by Yaqeen for six goals last week and then they traded some of their defence away during the week.

- Ihsan has roared to the top of the league and Imran Lakhanpal continues to light up opponents who have a family member on their roster.  Two weeks ago he was key in Ihsan's win over Haya and last week he put up the only goal in the win over Ridha.  Ihsan will have to hope he can continue his strong play even when he doesn't have a family rivalry on the line.

- The heartbreak for Emaan continues as they had their first win of the season seemingly locked up but Haya made some adjustments in the final minutes and it resulted in two goals in the final 2:16 of the game to give Haya the win.  Emaan held a 2-0 lead and a goal with 27 seconds left in the first half and then the collapse in the final couple of minutes robbed them of a win.

- Waqar Khan of Sabr may lead the league in points but his team sits second-last in the league and he is on the verge of missing the playoffs.

- The always entertaining waiver process got confusing last week as the Mohammad Patel replacement had to be redone after some confusion around which Mohammad Patel was joining the league, turns out there are two Malton players with the exact same name.  Last year there was confusion with replacement players using their street names and now we have same name issues.  At this point players coming from Malton will need to submit to an iris scan before being processed.

- There were a number of trades and waiver replacements that happened, check the Transactions Page for more details about them all.

- The divisional games all all going to be critical this week, the night opens with Emaan and Yaqeen where Emaan has to win to keep their playoff hopes alive, anything less and Yaqeen clinches the final spot.  Ikhlas and Sabr follow where both teams are in a fight for the last playoff spot in the Mecca division so the winner in this one gets a huge upper hand.  Ridha and Haya are both in a race to clinch first place in the Mecca division and the first round bye.  Ihsan and Shukr are separated by a point in the Medina division so this will be another great match-up to see.

- Haya's smash and grab job against Emaan last week broke their three game winless streak but now they face highly rated Ridha who have been on fire this season.

- Curious about the playoffs?  You should be since that's what these games are leading up to!  Playoffs start on March 29th with the QuarterFinal games for each division in a one-game elimination between 2nd and 3rd for each division.  April 5th and 12th will feature the Semi-Finals for each division with 1st vs the winner of 2nd/3rd in a two-game series.  April 19th and 26th will be the Finals in another two-game series.
