Fall Season - Week Four - October 5th

- Week Four started with Shukr and Ihsan ending in a scoreless draw, Yaqeen defeated Emaan 3-0, Ikhlas and Sabr ended in a 1-1 tie and Taqwa defeated Ridha 5-3.

Three Stars of the Week for Week Four:
1st Star: Dawood Ciombar (Taqwa)- 2 Goals and 1 Assist
2nd Star: Yusuf Ingar (Ridha)- 2 Goals and 1 Assist
3rd Star: Maaz Haq (Yaqeen) 3 Assist

- Haya is yet to win a game this season (ties in both games) and leadership seems to have taken some drastic steps as their players are no banned from playing Fortnight or any other video games the night before gameday.  Only time will tell if this strategy will work with getting their players focused coming into games.

- After Three Weeks there are five teams that are still looking for their first win of the season: Ihsan, Haya, Ikhlas, Emaan and Ridha

-After their game game last week, the Emaan GMs were overheard speculating trade options while identifying the need to have a “Connor McDavid”- type of player in return.

- Ikhlas has been struggling to close games this season - after another late game collapse frustration boiled over with Hany Soliman taking a slap shot into an empty net after the final buzzer sounded.

- Welcome to your JR Smith Moment for this season with “The worst Penalty Ever" award goes to Taqwa’s Rameez Siddiqui who lost track of the time left in the initial penalty he took and left the box early resulting in another penalty

- Shukr ended in a scoreless draw in their game against Ihsan last week but felt they got an unlucky call when a goal by Sulmaan Azmat was waived off with one referee saying that Azmat knocked the ball out of the air while the other felt he knocked it in with his shoulder.  After a discussion between the crew the goal was waived off.

- The league released the second podcast which saw Ahmad Ibrahim and Abdu Sharkawy dropping in which you can listen to here.  Listeners have commented about the awkward moment in the podcast where Sharkawy forgot the names of his current GMs.

Cujo Save: What some are calling the save of the season, Taqwa’s goaltender, Ahmad Mobin replicated the Cujo Save to reach back with his stick and deny Ridha’s Yusuf Ingar a sure goal off of the goal-line

- Speaking of goaltenders, Shukr found out on Friday that their goaltender Zaid Majoo would be unavailable for their game later that night due to a family emergency. The wire had it that Kashif “Coach K” Taqiuddin contemplated to go into net to add to his legacy. He was preparing by watching YouTube videos at work but decided it would be best to call a back up when he came across this video

- Still on the subjects of goalies we had three stand out performers with Shukr’s Zak Bandisha, Ihsan’s Mohammad Kasuji and Yaqeen’s Fahad Mohammad all going away with the clean sheet.

- Yes, we know the shutouts are not being tracked accurately on the website. Here is the right numbers:
