- After the first three weeks of the season, the first round of divisional games are complete as teams now get a chance to play cross divisional opponents for the next four weeks.  Bragging rights are at stake about which division is tougher but teams will also want to ensure that they keep pace in the race for a playoff spot as the season moves forward.

- There were a pair of trades made during the week, check out the Transaction Page for details.

- A big scoring output from Emaan saw the League Leader in Points break the seven way tie as Yusuf Ingar break out with a four-point game to jump to the top of the leaderboard with seven points in the first three games of the season.

- Early in the week, Ali Wadee mentioned to our insiders that he will be very active at the trade deadline and he isn’t very pleased with how his D has played so far.  While there was speculation that he may be targeting Salman Khalid, he went in a different direction and picked up Taha Azhar.

- Sabr short players for tonight, while we assume many have plans for the long weekend it comes at a fortunate time for the team as they play last place Taqwa who is trying to integrate new players after another trade and will lack cohesiveness

- After the trade they made to balance the lineup better, it is hoped that Ikhlas will feel more comfortable rolling all their lines throughout the game rather than rely heavily on their top line which leaves the team vulnerable to making mistakes due to fatigue.

Ali Wadee was spotted at a Brampton 45’s rep game. He claimed to be there to support his nephew but Insiders think he was there for potential future draft picks he will draft in upcoming seasons.

- Emaan is reportedly resting Salman Khalid after a blowout win last week in an attempt to keep the Defenceman fresh as the team faces Ridha who has yet to win a game this season.

- The Haya vs Yaqeen game will have an interesting quirk to it as Samad Hamidi helped the Haya GMs during the draft with tips on who to select only for them to not grab him as well.  With his insider info on all their players he will be key for Yaqeen as they try to take down the first place team.

- Ihsan one of the teams debuting a new look after trades, hoping that their defence is revamped with the addition of Umar Mahmood and Saajid Bhayat.  Observers felt that after watching their team struggle in the defensive zone a move had to be made and GM Ajmal Esmatyar made the tough call to break up their strong second line by dealing Erfan Bhanapatel and Saqib Sheikh to balance the lineup better.

- Haya is getting great output from Ali Haroon who gives this team great balance and allowed them to remain undefeated thus far, he leads the team with six points over the first three games of the season.

- Taqwa had a new look after their big trade going into Week Three and while they finally scored their first goal of the season, had to watch as one of the players they dealt away in Arif Khan came back to haunt them almost immediately as he scored a goal and set up two others.

- Emaan has been without forward Azim Siddique who has yet to debut as we go into Week Four, the veteran forward is an important piece for the team if they hope to make a deep playoff run.

- Fahad Mohammad is known as a top goalie in the league but this season made the switch to play defence where he has been a steady force for Ridha.  With his team desperate last week and down a goal Mohammad stepped up to play forward for the final minute and potted his first goal with just 37 seconds left in the game to salvage a tie for Ridha.

- Zubair Wahid may have been held off the scoresheet for the first two games of the season but he broke out in Game Three with a pair of goals against Ridha.  A positive sign for Sabr who have been coasting with the contributions from across the line-up while Wahid found his rhythm.

- Reminder that while Eye Protection is not mandatory this season it is strongly urged that all players ensure to protect themselves.  There were some injuries last season where deflected balls hit players in the face and could have resulted in a serious injury to the eye.  Please take the time to consider your own personal safety and wear the appropriate eye protection.

- Check out the Media Teams review of Week Two and preview of Week Three here.

- It's been an interesting start to the season in terms of scoring leaders with seven players tied with four points each over the first two games.

- Haya is leading the league in offence but is reportedly looking to tinker with their lineup a bit
is looking for someone to fill a second line fwd position on their roster, rumour has is Omar Essawi has been approached to consider it as he seems to have regained his hands and speed he was once known for

- Sabr is hoping for good news on the injury front soon as Ali Murtaza is reportedly still out with a lower body injury.  The team is still sitting pretty in first place thanks to their depth but would not want to be without the veteran for too long as the season progresses.

- After Week Two we have Haya, Ikhlas, Sabr and Yaqeen as the remaining undefeated team

- A familiar face in an unfamiliar place as Saqib Khokhar leads league in penalties, no word if this is because he is trying to re-establish himself as a power forward or not.

- Mohammed Khandwala is set to make his Sabr debut tonight in a key divisional game against Ridha, he had been travelling up to now and will be eager to help keep his team at the top of the Medina division.

- The Mecca Division see a battle of the bottom dwellers tonight as Emaan and Taqwa face up with each team looking for their first win.  The teams already made the unusual move to make a trade with each other, it will be interesting to see what other moves may be made when the dust settles after this one as the last place team cannot afford to wait too long and risk falling further behind in the standings.

- Sabr is at the top of the table and incredibly this has happened with Mohammed Hamoud and Zubair Wahid yet to register a point.

- Many eyes will be on Yaqeen and their loaded offence tonight which pundits expect to break out against Ihsan after showing positive signs last week against Sabr.

- Emaan leadership feels that with the acquisition of Arif Khan that they have a deep set of forwards and with reports that Kadir Motiwala being dressed for tonight they should have more punch in their line-up than they did in their first two games.  One wonders if a trade will be forced after their game against Taqwa to shake things up.

- Ihsan was at the receiving end of a lot of physical play from Ridha last week, they are hoping that the return of Umer "The Bonecrusher" Buksh that they will not have opponents take as many liberties going forward.

- Observers wonder if the Emaan-Taqwa trade this week will work out for Taqwa as they expect it to. In the transaction they gave up centre Arif Khan and winger Aliuddin Mohammad and obtained Dawud Habib in return. Habib is the youngest of all the players involved and is reasonable to assume has the greatest potential going into the future but Taqwa needs to worry about the now. They gave up a wily veteran in Khan who was playing on their top line for Habib who is fast but raw. Time will tell if this works in their favour but trading skill for youth is a high risk move considering Taqwa has yet to score a goal this season. If anything this move puts more pressure on Taqwa veterans like Ihtisham Qureshi and Imran Lakhanpal to find their younger glory years and start to light up the scoreboard.

- Ihsan has shown that their top line is as lethal as the pundits predicted, the combination of Ajmal Esmatyar, Dawood Ciombor and Ammal Esmatyar has been great over the first two weeks.  Adding to the fact the second line has also created a lot of chances this team looks to be solid offensively.

- Sabr looks like the real deal thus far this season, with a backline where all of them are considered shutdown defensemen and smart forwards who know how to disrupt opposing offences. There was a concern coming into the season that building from the blue line out during the first few rounds of the draft meant the forwards would not have enough depth but Emad Hussain has been critical for the team as he is tied for the league lead in points and has carried the second line with his great play.

- Is there anybody better than Aadil Chohan?  There were questions when he dropped to 6th overall in the draft and Mazhar Hussain commented in the GM Interviews that he was shocked to get him and now everyone knows why.  Chohan has simply been dominating games with his slick hands and high hockey IQ. The ball keeps coming back to him. Without Chohan and the strong play from Yasir Hussain, this team would be 0-2. Mazhar Hussain and the old Malton Slappers need to start hitting the gym, and work on their cardio in order to keep up with the speed in the league. So far they’ve been ok as Chohan has been the driving force behind every single play but what if their star has an off night or is away?  This team needs Chohan to be on his A-Game every single shift in order for this team to stay competitive.

- Farooq Sani has crafted a squad filled with veterans and old friends. His draft saviour Fahad Mohammed has been looking like a steal with the way he’s been playing. The crafty drafting, especially in the later rounds has worked in their favours as another Montreal defect, Mesbeh Siddiqui has been an integral part of the defensive core and has been relied upon heavily by Sani. But as we all know, this team will only be taken far if Ahmad Mobin plays well. Yes it’s the month of the scares, ghosts and vampires and Mr Mobin needs to keep these holiday distractions out of his mind when playing.

- Some observers are predicting doom for Taqwa after only two weeks saying that while their team has a great group of veterans, they lack the natural scorers to open a game up.  With the best goalie in the league and a solid system it looks like many of their games will be tight low scoring affairs - not the most attractive game to watch as long as you win it but they have zero goals this season so someone needs to step up.

- Haya was rolling in their 5-0 win last week and were missing Abdul Nafea Zuberi due to a midterm exam and he will be a game time decision tonight due to another mid term

- Check out the Media Teams review of Week One and preview of Week Two here.

- Emaan had a tumultuous start to their season as they were without their starting goalie, Muhammed Abdus-Samad and had made advance arrangements for a back-up who cancelled right before the game forcing GM Mohamed Kazi to don the pads.  Kazi started the game before he was relieved by another back up Goalie in Rahil Ahmed.  Surely not the way Emaan would have wanted to start off their season.

- Ahmad Mobin turned heads with his performance in the Ridha vs Yaqeen game as he made some spectacular saves.  After a strong summer season, Ridha GM Farooq Sani will view drafting Mobin as a steal because he grabbed him in the middle of the draft.

- Sabr performed as many pundits had predicted, a balanced team with a strong defence they controlled the game against Ihsan and ended up with a big win.  They were missing their starting goalie and used Rahil Ahmed as a fill-in who was playing his season game in a row.  Sabr made sure to tighten things up to protect their goalie it worked as they limited Ihsan's chances and shots throughout the game.

- During the draft many wondered how Aadil Chohan dropped to 6th overall and those questions will only increase after his strong performance against Taqwa to open the season.  This being his first full season in the league many were unsure of his game other than hearing that he was a top level player - there won't be many questions now other than how did GMs let his slide in the draft.

- Sabr coasted to the win in Week One but did have some adversity as veteran Ali Murtaza suffered a lower body injury early in the game and had to sit.  His status for tonight is a question mark for Sabr's game against Yaqeen.

- Another potential injury concern is the hamstring of Arif Bijabhai who came up on the weekly report, Ridha may rest him for their game against Ihsan tonight to avoid him picking up a more serious injury.

- This season has seen many combinations continue that started in the summer season, a great example is the young Yaqeen duo of Arslan Mian and Omar Husain who were flying in Week One.

- Sabr seems to have found a diamond in the draft as Emad Hussain set up all three of the teams goals and was keeping Ihsan's defence on their heels all night.  Hussain he always been recognized as a solid two-way player but this season has been asked to create more on the offensive end (and with a strong defence core behind him he can take more risks) and the results have been jarring to start the season as he is tied for the league lead in points.
